All-Occasion Seed Packets: Free Graphics

It all started with baby peas. Recently, I posted how to create tiny pea pod pendants, and the very next week I found a vintage peas seed packet among my ephemera stash. So I went about scanning and modifying it to create a little gift packet to hold the necklace for placing in a gift box. (Feel free to snag the image below for yourself!) Next thing I know, with little packets on the brain, I’m designing more and more with fun bright graphics. I saved each individual packet image large enough for you to use at any size printable on a letter size sheet. To access the graphics, simply click on an image and drag it into a file. Then place within your open software page and adjust the size(s) to your liking. Here are a dozen fun printable packet designs just for you.To make your packets, print out and trim along the edges of the graphics.Fold up the bottom, and in the short side and spread a bit of glue stick adhesive along each. Fold over the large flap and press. Then the top flap folds down to close. They make great little note card envelopes, pockets for small supplies, party favor holders or gift card wrappers. I’ll be using one for my needles and think they would make cute little travel sewing kits. With a round punch you can cut a semi-circle area for accessing the contents. I used my Martha Stewart scalloped 1″ punch.Tuck a little loot in one for someone special. (Recognize the jump-rope girl from the growth chart I posted?)Make one large enough to hold index cards, receipts, coupons and more. Wrap little floss cards with Divine Twine for sharing with your creative friends or for projects on the go!What would you use them for?

Funky Junk Friday Fix-Up: Red Wagon Tray

On my way home from the morning school run today, I stopped by the recycle area of the dump. Because, well, you never know what’s waiting there just for me! Today, a nasty, greasy, crusty, two-wheel, broken-down vintage red wagon for two bucks. Awesome!! I loaded it up, took it home and got right to work.

I removed all the hardware, not the easiest job as most screws and nuts were rusted together.I gave it a really good soapy scrubbing.I drilled holes…added old drawer handles…Used my Dremel to remove the protruding screws ends inside…And gave the whole thing a good coat of clear gloss enamel spray.I had some rubber furniture-bottom thingies, however I’d used their screws as the hardware for the handles earlier, so I attached them to the bottom using my trusty This-to-That foam dots. And that, my friends, is all there is to it. A funky-junk tray to sit on my living room coffee table, (also a funky-junk makeover of an old farmhouse table with the legs cut down.) It’s now a fun addition to my whimsical vintage wagon collection!I thought about laying a fitted piece of board into the bottom covered with vintage ephemera to hide the screw holes, but I really don’t mind it just the way it is. Oh, and I cleaned up one of the wheels as well to use as a pedestal for my little (fake) plant, but it can also double as a candle base!Got a fun funky-junk fix-up link? Share it in the comments!
