Winter Scrapbook Retreat Sponsor Swag Giveaway: Day 5

The day has finally arrived to enter to win one of three enormous scrap retreat swag bags. Before we get to the details, let’s take a look at some more great goods!

………..

Have you gone digital yet? Then you’re going to love love LOVE these:

Polka Dot Pixels Digital Kits!

Frozen Kit, Circle of Friends KitSpin Brushes, and Amalgamation Borders.

Emily Abramson is the superstar creative behind Polka Dot Pixels digital scrapbooking found exclusively at Two Peas in a Bucket. I’m so excited to share her amazing designs. And with the sponsored kits for the swag bags, she has included discount coupons for 25% off any Polka Dot Pixel products from Two Peas! When you see how many products that applies to, you’ll be even more impressed!

Check out the Polka Dot Pixel blog, and follow on Facebook & Twitter.

Thank you Emily!

Like many old-school graphic designers, I have been fond of kraft paper for many years. It was a huge trend to follow in the early 90s thanks to designer Charles Anderson and French Paper Company. I dug up this old shot of the Christmas promotion I designed for my design firm back then that I sent out to clients and vendors, (which actually won an award from French Paper Company!) Now that I’ve moved more into crafting, I’m still very fond of same natural kraft material so easily available from Canvas Corp along with some other really cool natural canvas, burlap and other unique products. Here’s the great papers and embellishments that they sponsored for the swag bags:

Canvas Corp 12″ x 12″ Papers, Chalkstock Tags and Mini Clothespins!

Lovely designed papers from their black and kraft food collection featuring gourmet wording, recipe cards and cool kitchen graphics. They included some great Halloween prints on white and cream, just in time as those photos are just coming out of most scrappers’ printers! They have some really great everyday patterns like my favorite, the orange and white dot reverse. How brilliant are these Chalkstock tags with twine ties? And sweet mini clothespins, just the right size embellishement clips. There are so many lovely things being crafted with their products- you can see many of them on their Facebook page and the Canvas Corp blog. You can purchase Canvas Corp products on Scrapbook.com and Scrapjazz.com.

Thank you Canvas Corp!If you haven’t been to the EK Success website lately, you really need to go. They have such quality brands and really sensational products. Their brand, Inkadinkado has a really nice selection of stamps and accessories, and here are a couple they sent for us!

Ink Lace Flourish Wood Stamp

and

Victorian Leaf Lace Wood Stamp

Their wood and rubber stamps are going to be fun to use not only for ink stamping- with such beautiful designs, but I’m looking forward to trying them out for embossing velvet, something you can’t do with acrylic stamps. You can find my velvet embossing projects here and here.

I was excited to bring some craft kits to the scrap retreat since scrapping the whole weekend can get a bit overwhelming if you don’t break it up a bit. The EK Success brand, Laliberi, has beautiful accessory project kits and so for the swag bags they sponsored:

Chiffon Chic Dark Flower Kit

and

Chiffon Chic Light Flower Kit

I think these would make wonderful holiday gift kits for tween & teen girls. They would also be good for them to have early enough to make accessories as gifts for their friends. Of course ladies of any age would love this kit as well as a flower accessories crafted from it.

One of the retreat scrappers used her kit to add a beautiful chiffon bloom to her scrapbook layout featuring her own teenage daughter.

Now we’re on to one of my favorite craft brands and one of my most important craft studio tools,

The Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board!

Martha Stewart Crafts have been an enormous gift to the crafting industry. So many high quality and beautifully engineered products, so little time. I was turned on to the Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board by my friend, professional stylist & crafter Suzonne Stirling some time ago when we were working on some product prototypes together. Now that I have the board I am constantly coming up with things to score! I think of all the years of my life designing and crafting that this would have been a Godsend. For creating accordion-folded prize ribbon rosettes the Martha Stewart Crafts Scoring Board is indispensable. If you do any paper crafting at all, you! need! this! board!

There is so much going on over at the EK Success Brands website and so much to be inspired by. Here are just a few necessary links for you to bookmark to keep up on all the amazing ideas, techniques, products and tools:

Winter Scrapbook Retreat Sponsor Swag Giveaway: Day 4

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Thanks for stepping away from the mashers and sauce long enough to peruse Day 4’s fantastic sponsored swag line-up! See Day 1 for info on the giveaway and the swag products, and more product on Day 2 and Day 3. Come back again tomorrow on Day 5 to enter!

…………..

At The Creative Connection in September I had my first experience teaching classes. It was the best time and I was convinced that I need to do this more. One great thing about teaching classes is learning about new tools and techniques from the students. One was using a pair of large red handled snips to cut and trim her embellishments and paper. When asked about them, she stated, “These Tim Holtz Snips have changed my life.” She was dead serious. In October at SPARK, in between teaching classes I had the opportunity to take a class from another instructor but hadn’t brought any scissors with me. Another student loaned me her extra pair of- what else- Tim Holtz Snips! It was love at first use. So I contacted Tonic Studios as soon as I returned home and they generously sent to me enough pairs for each swag bag.

The Tim Holtz Non-Stick Micro Serrated Snip

Their non-stick coating makes these scissors resistant to rust and corrosion and minimizes adhesive build up. Their micro-serrated edge is perfect for small detail cutting and most anything else you’re crafting with. The large hand openings are the big bonus, trust me, and they come with a protective plastic cap that is big enough I won’t loose it and keeps my snips from damaging anything in transport. Based on these alone I’m convinced that if Tim Holtz recommends something, I’m sold. These are affordably priced and you can purchase them here.

Tonic Studios didn’t stop there, they sent us a few more paper crafting goodies to play with!

The Tim Holtz Paper Distresser!

This little sweetheart has dual purposes- you can use it to drag the recessed blades along the edge of your paper or cardstock to distress them a little or a lot, and it comes in extra handy as a thread cutter! Love that!! (buy here)

What? More Tonic Studios product? Yup!!

Mini Rotary Tools 3-Piece Set!

Cutter. Scorer. Perforator!…Simple. Small. Spectacular! Did I mention compact? They fold up for safe storage. Some folks carry Swiss Army knives on their keychains, I’m thinking of carrying these. You never know when you need to cut, score or perforate, am I right?! You can purchase the set here.

Keep up with Tonic Studios on Twitter and Facebook to see what they come up with next.

Thank you Tonic Studios! All these smaller tools are going to need a place to stay when being schlepped to and from scrap retreats, and in style would be nice….

Bursting With Bags W.Boutique Mini Cosmetic Case

The bags measure 7.5” L x 5” W x 4” H and are made of a durable canvas. Yes, I suppose you could actually put your cosmetics in these, but mine was just right for keeping tools safe and free from getting lost in my enormous swag bag! With three different patterns to choose from these are a great tote for craft travel. AND you can personalize these with an embroidered name, word or monogram when ordering! W. Boutique products ship fast so these would be awesome as Christmas gifts!

When searching for swag bag products like these cosmetic bags, I spent a long time looking for just the right companies to contact. I can’t tell you how exciting it was to come across KLIC online stores and how great they are to work with. There’s four KLIC shops full of fabulous products.

Hooray for Handbags •  Wild for Wallets •  Bursting with Bags •   Trendy Trimmings

You can find up to date product and promotions on KLIC’s Facebook and via Twitter!

Thank you KLIC!Jo Packam and Stampington & Company’s Somerset Studios comes through for the retreat swag bags once again with

Winter Scrapbook Retreat Sponsor Swag Giveaway: Day 3

Another day–another amazing round-up of awesome product! To catch you up, here’s DAY 1 with general info on the giveaway &  first round of goodies, and DAY 2 with even more wonderful stuff! Look for bold pink type for actual product that will be in the final swag bag giveaway.

My son asked me last night what SWAG means. The main definition for the acronym is Stuff We All Get. But I’m taking liberties and changing it to Sponsored With Abundant Generosity. I’m sure you can see why. These product sponsors are simply amazing.

Provo Craft! What’s a scrap retreat without them? Seriously! I can’t say enough wonderful things about this company. They sent me the 5th Anniversary Cricut Expression to try out. I brought it along to the retreat and here we are setting it up for the first time. I found out they just sold out of this anniversary model yesterday, but the good news is that their latest and greatest Cricut Expression 2 has all the same capabilities. Although these machines come preloaded with some cartridges, for the swag bags they kindly sponsored:

The Cricut Fancy Frame Cartridge!

To get an idea of how wonderful this particular cartridge is and it’s vast capabilities, check out the Cricut Fancy Frames Look Book! One of the retreat-goers had an older model Cricut and this cartridge still worked great and puts out the neatest designs. Provo Craft also sent us some great Cricut Cuttlebug goodies!

Cuttlebug Cricut Companions: Paper Lace II Embossing Folders

and

Cuttlebug A2 Swiss Dots Embossing Folder

For those who don’t own a Cuttlebug machine yet, and although that will work best with these, in a pinch you can always use a rolling pin and a lot of pressure. Gorgeous patterns!

How about some lovely papers to use in your paper crafting. Covered!

Cricut Cardstock Pad: Earthtones!

The Cricut Cardstock Pads are 32 sheets (4 sheets of each color) of 6″ x 12″ textured dual-tone cardstock that are both are acid and lignin free. Beautiful linen texture, beautiful colors.

When you’re crafting with Cricut products or doing any paper crafting for that matter, it’s always great to have some awesome Cricut accessories. Guess what. Provo Craft sent those too!!!

The Cricut Took Kit!

The padded travel-size zip-up case contains:

  • Scoop Tool (working much like a spoon to lift cut pieces from the mat)
  • Knife Tool (a sharp edge for sliding under paper)
  • Hook Tool (removes small circles of paper and cleans small holes)
  • Scraper (scrapes off and cleans your entire mat from any leftover paper scraps)
  • Bone Folder (scores paper, creases paper & marks paper)
  • Scissors
  • 7″ Clear Ruler

Are we in business yet or what?! WOW!! I’ll be setting up a newer and much bigger studio in our barn and I can’t wait to have a station dedicated to everything Cricut! If you’re already using a Cricut, I would love to know some of your favorite features and projects!

Check out all the exciting and innovative Provo Craft products and their unlimited uses on the Provo Craft Channel. Follow Cricut on Facebook for incredible offers, prizes and craft inspiration and keep up with them as well on Twitter.

Thank you Provo Craft!

Paper crafting calls for excellent adhesive. But excellent adhesive from a well engineered machine is a serious bonus. Lucky for us there’s Xyron and their

Xyron 2.5″ create-a-sticker!

I just love my Xyron create-a-sticker for adding permanent adhesive evenly to paper and printable fabric. This baby even handles weights up to chipboard! So it’s perfect for adhering embellishments, cut-outs in any shape, wide ribbon, flat buttons or even for coating paper to dust with glitter! This little machine will be so fantastic when my kids do large school projects involving pictures and text blocks adhered to poster board. No cords or electricity needed and has a cartridge 20′ long. Refill cartridges are available in permanent and repositionable adhesive.

My 5″ Xyron create-a-sticker was essential in creating the Country Living Blue Ribbon Blogger Awards.

Sometimes I only need a bit of adhesive accurately placed, but with bigger, multi-piece projects I go through small adhesive runners too fast. That’s why this is baby so wonderful-

The Xyron Mega Runner!

Acid-Free Dot-Matrix Permanent Adhesive that’s ½ inch wide by 100 feet! Super strong adhesive dots hold aggressively but have no sling like solid tape runners! It’s really lightweight and has a built-in cap (so great because when I get crafting– caps get lost!) There are also drop-in refills available for the Mega Runner.

See the Xyron website for product & craft videos. Like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter to keep up to date on some fantastic promotions and products. I’m sure this won’t be the last time you find me bragging on Xyron products. I’m seriously hooked.

Thank you Xyron! If you know anything about me you know I love crafting with vintage and vintage-style supplies. There’s a particular era I’m most fond of, the 1920s -40s, and there’s a particular designer that has rocked my little crafty world. Jenni Bowlin. Soul sister. Design crush. Vintage BFF. Jenni has designed product for what seems like every favorite little vintage thing I love to craft with. Trinkets, bits & bobbles and papers that are getting harder and harder to come by at flea markets and online. The Jenni Bowlin Studio (JBS) line of products will blow your mind. Promise. I have many of her fabulous papers and embellishments and lots of actual flea market supplies from the JBS Mercantile that I can’t wait to use in my workshops early next year. I could ramble forever, or I could simply show you some examples! Here’s what I worked on for an afternoon at the scrap retreat using JBS Mercantile product and a standard issue 2012 office supply planner.

And here are the goodies Jenni put together just for the swag bags!

The JBS Mercantile Pack

The JBS Mercantile pack includes:

If you like what you see so far, you’re going to have a blast shopping the JBS Mercantile! But plan to be there a while…it’s that endless.

Join Jenni on Facebook and Twitter to see what’s new and happening in JBS land and follow the Jenni Bowlin Inspiration Blog for wonderful crafting ideas.

Thank you Jenni! That’s Day 3… can you believe there’s lots more to come?! See you back here tomorrow for Day 4 of the Winter Scrapbook Retreat Sponsor Swag Giveaway!
