Globe Bowl and Pretty Pins

Last Summer I picked up an old, out-dated globe at the thrift store. You’d be surprised how difficult it was to saw it in half. Well, it sat in my craft shed up until last night. I’ve been coming down with something and although having no energy, I still felt crafty. So out with the Mod Podge, old torn book, Martha Stewart 1″ craft punch and the German glitter.

Now I have two fun bowls and no idea what to do with them. Ha!

While I had the Mod Podge and glitter out, I rolled a few bulletin board pins in the glue, covered in the glitter left-overs, poked them into some corks and took them outside to dry. There, pretty pins.

Nestie Bottles

My version of collaged bottles, inspired by the work of Anna Corba, a local artist and author. And more inspiration from the tiny bottles in the bottom right corner that I picked up at a craft fair last Christmas.

Vintage Printer’s Type Tray

Are we tired of decoupage yet?

No.

I picked up this old printer’s type tray last week worrying the 80s would call and want it back, (remember how popular these were for decor?).
I cut pages of my favorite book to fit each tray section and let loose with the Mod Podge. (I know it would make more sense to scan copies and retain the original pages -but I have an aversion to scanning.) Then, for good measure, I “podged” the rest of the tray. I use the Matte finish, such a beautiful soft luster.

Well, as pretty as it is, it certainly takes up a lot of surface space for the sake of organizing. Really, it’s just a way of putting out my fun little items out so that I can keep inspired. As soon as my new (garage) studio is complete, I’m sure there’ll be plenty of room.
