I was given a voucher to try out and review a Personal-Planner– spiral-bound calendar to design and customize online. And since I really needed something to get 2014 rolling with my upcoming craft workshops and classes (very soon to be announced), the timing was right!
The process of designing my own planner was simple. There are lots of options:
Outside
– Upload personal pictures for front and back cover from desktop and Instagram
– Change background, size, font, lining, images
Inside
– Pick what month you want your planner to start
– Design writing space details; “work”, “workout schedule”, “exam schedules”, “to-do lists”, “goals”
– Include personal calendar dates as birthdays and holidays
– Add extra pages in the back for addresses, lined pages, coloring pages
My planner arrived and is fantastic! I opted out of any custom text on the front, and using many of my Instagram photos, I Photoshopped a collage image for my cover. (If you’re not following me on IG, you should be!) You also have the option of choosing from your Instagram images when designing your cover. The planner arrived with a nice thick clear protector over my image. I even got to choose my elastic closure color.
There’s a nice touch inside should you loose your planner- a custom message and contact info printed on the first page. I used some of my rubber stamps to add punctuations here and there, such as that pointer finger.
I also stamped fun frames on holidays and stars throughout the year on my husband’s on-duty days at the firehouse. I was able to choose the header color and design for the calendar pages and my preference for the weekly planner layout. I prefer long columns. You can really customize this section, even adding hours if you’re an appointment or time tracking kind of organizer.
And the bottom of the weekly planner pages can be customized as well. I chose a blank section for writing and a NOTES area.
You can add special days to your calendar online while customizing, or add them later if preferred by hand.
The back section of the planner has a large area for adding at-a-glance calendar, blank, grid and/or ruled pages. I chose primarily blank for sketching out project designs and ideas. The planner includes a ruler of your color choice, I went with clear. It acts as a nice bookmark, too!
They even send a clear pocket for you to place in your planner for what-nots.
Personal-Planner comes in four different sizes. They also offer also notebooks, wall calendars, and calendar accessories.

CONGRATULATIONS #138 Minato and #49 Maude!
I was recently given an item to review- something I’ve been needing and wanting for some time for my studio- WellnessMats, a quality anti-fatigue mat made right here in the USA!
Since I do most of my hand crafting standing at a counter-height table, I chose the 6′ x 2′ WellnessMats that fits perfectly along the side of the table I stand at the most.
And because of the no-trip beveled edge, I am able to walk over it often to get from one area of the studio to the other with no issues.
Since designing and making stuff is my job, standing to craft for long periods of time puts a lot of stress on my feet and back which causes aches and pains that have me “calling it a day” earlier than I’d like. After a few weeks with the WellnessMats, I am so much more comfortable crafting for a much longer time and I’m sure it will give me many years of comfort while creating.
Here are a few more great points about WellnessMats:
WellnessMats has recently launched a host of new product innovations designed with the entire home in mind. With a dedicated mission to contribute to healthier lifestyles, they now offers an array of styles, lines, colorways and designs that complement standing areas in the bathroom/vanity, garage, outdoor grilling spaces, fitness, home office and workplace, even art studio!
WellnessMats is offering one 3′ x 2′ in choice of style and color to one lucky JSIM reader. US and Canada residents only.
