I’m not sure what has taken me so long, but I finally started a shop on Etsy. My first items listed are my covered journals. Wish me luck!

I’m so excited to announce that today you can find my first Guest Blogger post on SC Johnson’s Right@Home website. I share a do-it-yourself project for making your own vintage-style sign, just click on the above giant blue button.
The Right@Home website gives resources for everything from cooking, cleaning and organizing to family advice and home designing tips & tricks. I will be posting once a week in January and February in the Designing For Your Home section. So click on over and take a look! I would love if you would leave a comment on my post there. Thanks everyone!!!

Traditionally, Jeff and I host a couples Valentine dinner every February. In January, I’ll pass along more ideas, but for now, there’s a reason I’m posting about it…
Holiday sales! Think ahead to Valentines Day, whether you’re celebrating with family, couples or decorating your kid’s classroom, watch for all things red to start going on sale soon and seriously cheap right after Christmas.
This (tacky-but fun) pre-lit, red tinsel tree, regularly $30-something, was marked 75% off at Michael’s Crafts the week after Christmas. I use it to hold the custom Valentine ornaments each year, (last year’s ornaments were cookies!) I even found a few strands of red lights for our front entrance.
Also watch for candles, ribbons, gift bags, tablecloths, napkins, and all things red and sparkly.
