Turning 2: Cookie Giveaway!

March 29, 2010 marks two years for my blog. And it has been a fabulous two years for me in blogland, to say the least. I can’t possibly say enough about the kind people I have had the privilege of corresponding with and the wonderful readers that fill my email in-box with joy as a result of sharing my stuff and myself on my blog. I have made some very special friendships that I am so grateful for, every day.

I’ve got some fun things in store next week, including a giveaway that will be even bigger and better than last year’s -as blogged about HERE, HERE and HERE!

So, to get this party started, Amazing Bridget of Bake at 350 has baked up and decorated a gorgeous batch of JSIM birthday celebration cookies to giveaway to TWO JSIM readers! How awesome are these?! And she shows how she decorated them on her blog! THANK YOU, BRIDGET!To enter to win one-half dozen Bake at 350/JSIM birthday cookies delivered straight to you, leave a comment on this post (with a way for me to contact you if you win,) and then pop over and check out her how-to’s on cookie decorating and please leave a nice comment for her.

I am heading out of town today for a crafty retreat (just like last year, blogged about HERE and HERE) and will be back on Monday to announce the two winners of the cookies as I begin a wonderful week of blog birthday fun!

UPDATE! The winners of the cookie giveaway are Mandy, the Gourmet Mom on the Go, and Jill of Jill Ruth & Co. Congratulations ladies! And thanks to all of you that entered and for your sweet birthday wishes! There’s more fun and giveaways to come, so stay tuned!

Creating Silhouette Portraits & Travel Scrapbooks

Do you scrapbook? I don’t. Wish I did. But finding this wonderful little how-to from the early 1900s makes me definitely want to start. If nothing else, I will enjoy just making and sharing them.
Who doesn’t love a silhouette? It’s due time I made a few of these with the kids. And the dogs if I can get them to stay long enough. Maybe even my grandmother’s ironstone pitcher, who would have thought to silhouette household items? A lost art.Click on images to download, save and print.
